SAN JOSE AIRPORT TERMINAL

Good morning from the city of San Jose, the third largest city in California! I am currently at San Jose’s Norman Mineta Airport!

I hope that all is well and you are all finding a way to enjoy each and every precious moment of your gift of life no matter where you are in the world and no matter what you are doing!

I arrived here safely from Dallas, Texas about 11:10pm. Since I left the keys to my apartment at my sister’s home in Los Angeles and my flight for Los Angeles departs about 6:10am I decided to stay at the airport. This has definitely been a very challenging experience for me and another opportunity to learn how to appreciate each and every precious moment of my gift of life!

At first it wasn’t going well because I focused my energy on how uncomfortable I felt and I made myself feel even more uncomfortable. I attempted to sleep about 1:45am and I managed to sleep for about an hour before someone decided to waste taxpayer’s money in an empty airport by turning up the air conditioner! Amazingly I felt a bit refreshed after my one our nap even though I was freezing. Fortunately for me I had my suitcase and I could add an additional layer of clothing.

I thought about a few words that I always share with my friends and my students based on an idea introduced to the world by Lao Tzu,

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

I believe that when I change the way I think and talk about my life, the way I experience my life also changes. If I want to experience my life in a more positive way it’s important for me to think and talk about my life in a more positive way. So I began to think differently about this experience, I began to think more positive and I feel better now! And, in about an hour and a half (5:00am) the American Airlines Admiral Club lounge opens up and an hour after that I will be flying to Los Angles!

Finally, I asked myself the question I usually ask myself when I am working through a challenging experience in my life; what can I learn from this experience and how can I use what I learn to make myself I better person?

That’s all for now! Please take care, stay positive and have a great day and or an enjoyable evening!

ADMIRALS CLUB LOUNGE DALLAS, TEXAS!

Good evening from Dallas/Forth Worth Airport! I hope that all is well and you are all finding a way to enjoy each and every precious moment of your gift of life!

I arrived here about an hour ago after about a 45-minute flight filled with turbulence, rain, lightening and thunder from Houston, Texas. Fortunately I sat next to a very positive person on the plane and we discussed the importance of using language to create a more positive life experience on the entire flight!

I have about an hour and a half before I board my next flight on American Airlines for San José, California which parts about 9:10pm central time. I will arrive in San Jose about 11:00pm and I had planned to visit my place in San Jose for about 6 hours and fly to Los Angeles the next morning.

However, I discovered in Houston that I had forgot to pick up the keys to my apartment in Los Angeles and the office will be closed so I will not be able to access my apartment before I have to fly to Los Angeles at 7:45am and take my flight to Tokyo at 12:25pm on May 25th. This will definitely be a very challenging experience for me, since I do not have any place to stay? What am I going to do in San Jose for 6 ½ to 7 hours? What can I learn from this experience and how can I use what I’ve learned to make myself a better person? I’m getting sleepy!

That’s all for now! Please take care, stay positive and have a great day or an enjoyable evening depending on where you are!

HYATT REGENCY HOUSTON, TEXAS

Good morning from the Hyatt Regency in Houston, Texas!

I hope that all is well and you are finding a way to enjoy each and every precious moment of your gift of life! Thank you for your message!

I am doing well, even though the past week has been very challenging for my family and I. We celebrated the life of my uncle Malcolm who died May 17 at his funeral yesterday in Houston, Texas.

After the funeral we had a barbecue and enjoyable an impromptu family reunion! It was great to see my grandmother who celebrated her 99th birthday in March and my other relatives who live in Texas once again. Even though it was during a challenging time for everyone, especially my grandmother who lost another son we managed to have an enjoyable time together! We were all reminded with the loss of my uncle just how precious each and every moment of our gift of life truly is and how important it is to celebrate our lives and the lives of the people we care about while we are still here!

That’s all for now! Please take care, stay positive and have an enjoyable rest of the evening!
