TOKYO INSTITUTE OF TOURISM

Good evening from Itabashi-ku, Tokyo!

I hope that all is well and you are finding new ways to enjoy each and every precious moment of your gift of life!

Today I visited the Tokyo Institute of Tourism in Idabashi. It was my third visit there. My friend who teaches English there invited me to his class as a guest speaker to talk about the power of positive thinking and he used it as a listening exercise for his students. It was a very good experience for me since I usually teach my students one to one and I had a very enjoyable time.

During our conversation group one of the students talked to me about a “bad day” that she was having. She wanted to know how she could overcome this kind of challenging situation. The first question I asked was what time is it? It was about 2:40pm at the time. I would later explain to her that there was still too much time left in her day to define it as a “bad day.”

Next, I explained to her that I did not understand this concept of a “bad day” since I do not experience them and I explained why. First, I do not create them! I do not use words like bad, difficult, problems, etc… to describe or define my life since I do not want to attract the energy that comes with those words into my life.

Secondly, I use the word challenge and different variations of this word to describe these kinds of experiences, which attracts a different kind of energy into my life. Thirdly, I look at everything that happens in my life as a learning experience and I ask myself, “What can I learn from this experience and how can I use it to create a more enjoyable life for myself.

Finally, one of the most important reasons why I do not experience “bad days” s I focus on always living my life in the now, in this precious (present) moment. Since I am still a “work in progress” I do not always experience my life in a perfect way. I just focus one being a living it a little bit better than I did the day before!

That’s all for now! Please take care, stay positive and have an enjoyable evening!
