SAN JOSE AIRPORT TERMINAL

Good morning from the city of San Jose, the third largest city in California! I am currently at San Jose’s Norman Mineta Airport!

I hope that all is well and you are all finding a way to enjoy each and every precious moment of your gift of life no matter where you are in the world and no matter what you are doing!

I arrived here safely from Dallas, Texas about 11:10pm. Since I left the keys to my apartment at my sister’s home in Los Angeles and my flight for Los Angeles departs about 6:10am I decided to stay at the airport. This has definitely been a very challenging experience for me and another opportunity to learn how to appreciate each and every precious moment of my gift of life!

At first it wasn’t going well because I focused my energy on how uncomfortable I felt and I made myself feel even more uncomfortable. I attempted to sleep about 1:45am and I managed to sleep for about an hour before someone decided to waste taxpayer’s money in an empty airport by turning up the air conditioner! Amazingly I felt a bit refreshed after my one our nap even though I was freezing. Fortunately for me I had my suitcase and I could add an additional layer of clothing.

I thought about a few words that I always share with my friends and my students based on an idea introduced to the world by Lao Tzu,

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

I believe that when I change the way I think and talk about my life, the way I experience my life also changes. If I want to experience my life in a more positive way it’s important for me to think and talk about my life in a more positive way. So I began to think differently about this experience, I began to think more positive and I feel better now! And, in about an hour and a half (5:00am) the American Airlines Admiral Club lounge opens up and an hour after that I will be flying to Los Angles!

Finally, I asked myself the question I usually ask myself when I am working through a challenging experience in my life; what can I learn from this experience and how can I use what I learn to make myself I better person?

That’s all for now! Please take care, stay positive and have a great day and or an enjoyable evening!
