On Friday March 27^th we celebrated my grandmother’s 99^th birthday at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Houston, Texas! On Saturday the celebration continued at an extended family party with a special guest appearance from U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee who read a special proclamation from the U.S. Congress!

However the evening belonged to my grandmother who has lived an inspired life and seen some incredible changes take place in this country since her birth on March 27, 1910!
