Today is March 14, “White Day,” a day of celebration unique to Japan. A company in Japan created “White Day” in 1965 to generate additional income. In Japan, on Valentine’s Day women give chocolate to men and on “White Day” men reciprocate the gesture by giving gifts to women.

Although I think that it is okay to participate in these activities, I think that it is also important to remember that this day and other days are promoted for the financial benefit of the companies that promote them.

However, I do not believe that I need to wait for a “special day,” and to have someone else tell me when or how to show them that I love and care about them. I think that it is important to share our love with the people that we care about with our words and actions 365 days a year.  And even more importantly to share, express our feelings of love with the people that we care about each and every precious moment of our lives!
