Good morning! I did not sleep completely through the night; I am apparently still adjusting to the 15-hour time difference between Tokyo and San Jose. Still, I am determined to have an enjoyable day, today.
(11:00am) I visited Shibuya and talked to some members of a Religious Organization called Tenseishinbikai. Their mail focus is creating “Paradise on Earth” through this power called “Jorei.” It was an interesting conversation; their religion is an interesting combination of Christianity, Buddhism and Shintoism. They seemed intent on converting me!
(2:45pm) I took the Yamanote Line to Harajuku Station and met my friend there. We walked down through the crowds of people on the smoke filled sidewalks and headed down to Omotesando. We visited Kowa Gallery in Omotesado Hills and Nalu Café, Gallery and Salon.
After that, we had lunch in the smoke filled at Wendy’s. I am still not sure why people are allowed to smoke in family restaurants in Japan. I would imagine that it could be quite embarrassing for the parents companies of Wendy’s and McDonald’s in the U.S. to know that their Japanese affiliates put the lives of children at risk by allowing smoking in their restaurants that attract children! I think that is called an “attractive nuisance” in legal terms!
